Risk to humans and mammals: Generally, toxicity to humans is considered low to medium. Prolonged exposure in mammals can cause damage to the liver and testes.

First Aid In the case of spills or ingestion, thoroughly wash the contaminated areas, remove contaminated clothing, and contact lenses if necessary and not prevented by other problems. Inhalation is treated by fresh air and rest and ingestion is treated by thoroughly rinsing the mouth out. Victims should see a doctor as soon as is reasonably possible, but not as a matter of urgency.
Risk to other animals: Generally speaking, benomyl is not toxic to birds or other mammals. It is highly toxic to earthworms and toxic to fish.
Risk to plants: Not considered phytotoxic if used as directed.
Other comments: Benomyl is poorly soluble in water and it is not easily eluted from soil after use. It is considered to be moderately persistent.
