Risk to humans and mammals: Oral, dermal, and inhalation toxicity are medium to high and long term toxicity.

  • Keeped locked up and out of reach of children.
  • After contact with skin, wash immediately with plenty of water.

First Aid Thoroughly rinse contaminated areas, especially face and mouth with copious amounts of water. Remove contaminated clothing. Seek immediate medical attention for treatment for cholinesterase inhibitors. It may be necessary to support breathing in severe cases..
Risk to other animals: Significant acute toxicity to a mammals, birds, molluscs, crustaceans and amphibians. Also harmful to beneficial insects including bees.
Risk to plants: Not generally harmful to cereal and vegetable crops, harmful to some ornamentals.

Chemical properties: Is not persistent in soil, being degraded at a moderate rate with a half-life of 10-120 days depending upon method of application. Chlorpyrifos itself is not taken up by plants, but some of its metabolites are taken up and further metabolized.
