A little bit about us.

A Mission Statement: We try to provide accurate and useful information on individual and general classes of weapons of mass destruction for use emergency and security personnel for training and background information and to help the general public understand the nature of the types of weapons that are causing so much concern.

We are not engaged in trying to influence policies or politicians, but to help the people on the front lines.

Do we belong to a larger organization, corporation, or government agency?

No. We are a small, independent operation.

Where are you based?

Columbus, Ohio, USA

Is this a full-time operation?

No, but it seems like it sometimes. Everything is done at weekends or in the evenings.

Why did you start this up?

It all goes back to Desert Storm... Once people realized that chemical and biological weapons were still something of a threat, we started looking around for more information. We saw a lot of lists of agents, a lot of discussion of policy and of railing against the iniquity of such things, but precious little coherent information on these agents as weapons. Now:

  1. we are not policy types;
  2. we are pretty much agreed that these are iniquitous weapons;
  3. we are scientists (we both have Ph.D's and research experience), so we know how to gather and analyze information;
  4. we recognize a need for this sort of infomation.

So, we started putting things together. Our first step was to publish a book dealing with general concepts: Chem-Bio: Frequently Asked Questions, with Tempest Publishing, which turned out to be a success. We then decided to set up the web site to deal with some other topics. This is where we are today.

Will there be a charge for the information?

Our original intention was to use this web site to provide a sample of the type of materials we could compile and then offer a subscription service or CD-ROM version so that we could at least break even.

As did many others, we reexamined our priorities in September of 2001 and concluded that it was more important to have the information available than to make a profit. For this reason we do not plan to ever charge for what we put up.

However, this does cost money and takes up a lot of our spare time. We would appreciate some help.

This can be either by helping with the workload, or by helping us cover our modest costs. If you want to volunteer to help us (strictly voluntary, there is absolutely no money available), contact cbwinfo1@cbwinfo.com to express interest.
