Hagedorn oximes: HI-6 and Hlö-7

Hagedorn oximes are largely experimental drugs showing great potential in the treatment of organophosphate poisoning including organophosphorus insecticides and nerve agents.

HI-6 autoinjectors were issued to Canadian forces involved in the 1991 Gulf War.

Available forms HI-6 is usually supplied as measured doses of a dry powder ready to be dissolved for injection. Hlö-7 is supplied as an aqueous injectable solution.
Indications and usage Used in cases of organophosphate poisoning, either on the battlefield or in known cases of exposure to organophosphorus insecticides. Remember that Hagedorn oximes are still experimental
Contraindications None reported.
Drug interactions None reported.
Adverse reactions and side effects

NOTE: all such reactions are rare.

No adverse effects reported for the use of HI-6 in healthy volunteers.
